every number ends up being a multiple of 9, and every multiple of 9 has the same symbol associated with it...

look at the symbol for 0, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 62, 72, 91, 90 and 99...all the same right? that's because those are the only numbers you will ever end up on!

I took a class in college about the social impact of the internet, and these types of sites were one of the things we discussed.

simple math. Take the symbol it says you picked. now look at all instances of that symbol and the #s it is next to they are 0-9-18-25-27-36-45-49-54-55-63-72 and 81. any 2 digit # you put into that formula will give one of these #s and every time you do the puzzle the symbols are reassigned but every time these #s will all be the same symbol.

There are only a few numbers it actually can be. for instance in the 90's section

90-0-9= 81
91-1-9= 81
92-2-9= 81

that works for any other decade.

so that it can ONLY EVER be 81, 72, 63,54, 45, 36, 27, 18 or 9. And in every scenerio, ALL THESE NUMBERS HAVE THE SAME SYMBOL. Therefor, no matter what number you choose, it will pick that symbol.

yeah, that's strange. if you pick a single digit number, you'll end up with 0.
