How far do you commute to work?

For my past jobs the shortest commute has been roughly 5 minutes and the longest 25. If I get the job I want this summer, I'm looking at a 45+ minute drive.

13 miles. It typically takes about 30-40 minutes to get there.

My longest commute was 45 miles, and it usually took 46 minutes - all rural.

For the past 23 years at two different jobs, my commutes have been around 5 miles to work, usually about 10 minutes in traffic.

I've done as much as an hour, and as little as 2 minutes (on foot).

Right now, I'm under 10 by car, and when the weather is nice about 20 on bicycle. The bike is coming out to play VERY SOON.

EDIT: Forgot the 18 months I lived in Baton Rouge, LA and had a 5 night a week house gig in New Orleans, that's 75 miles one way, took about 90 minutes to make the trip, door to door.

Before I moved out I drove 25 miles to work and it took somewhere around 45-60 minutes (sometimes longer) because I had to drive during rush hour.

Now I live 2-3 miles from work and I ride the bus. It takes 10-15 minutes once the bus shows up.

Around 75 miles each way per day, into London. Each journey takes me 90 minutes -- so three hours' driving total.

Cheers

For my day job I stumble down the stairs into my office. I log in and I'm at work. Probably about 20-30 feet. On the days I have to go into the office, about 25-30 minutes.

For my business, I live about 3-4 blocks away. So it takes me about 3-5 minutes to drive there, and about 10-15 minutes by foot or bike.

3.5 blocks.
I can get my bike down the stairs out the door and clock into work in less than 5 min.

This means I can set my alarm for 7 min before I need to be at work!!!!

About six miles by the fastest (though not the shortest) route. It's about a 15-25 minute ride once I catch the bus at the end of my block, or 10-15 minutes on the train plus a 10-minute walk.

About 1 mile. It takes me 10-15 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace.

38 miles each way, takes about an hour to an hour and a half. Gives me time to be alone and think, or listen to Savage on the way home and either get worked up, or laugh at him, depending. Sometimes I'll call my buddies, or talk to my wife. Sometimes I think about getting my helo license and getting an ultralight helo to fly to work...
