Question How has 2010 treated you ?

Sign in to disble this ad
I would say for me the phrase "expect the unexpected" has consistently availed itself upon me through out the year to the point I would equate it to a sick, sick joke. So how has 2010 treated you ?

2010, the year of starting school, getting a divorce, finding my band.

Life is not where I expected it to be, but it's damn good none the less.

Kinda well. Still single, still having fun before I grow up too much. That said, school is getting a bit intense, but I am having more fun than ever with my music.

Saw some great gigs, went to some superb cities, played my first live shows (with varying degrees of sucess/style) but my football coach insists on playing me out of position.

Had constant stream of visitors from March until August. Three of us had surgery in a week. One was planned (knee for one daughter), gall bladder for me, appendix for other daughter. Wife got shingles. Thirteen year old dog died.

On the upside, started a new job in the spring, one daughter graduated university and my wife and I bought a small farm in France.

Its been a lot of worry and struggle, more so that It has been in a long time. May through August was a of of upheaval in my personal relationships. My girlfriend and I are closer than we've ever been, I've mended A LOT of things with my family. Musically things have taken a back seat as I've had to take some time away from it to work on personal, finical and career issues. Hopefully 2011 will leave me plenty of time for that.

Meh. Ups and downs. Nothing major. Social life has been on a down low. We won FSG and got offered an internship at BMW in their suspension department for DTM.

Been taking the bad with the good. Can't really complain. I'm really blessed in many ways compared to others.

I've been looking for a job for a long while now, I don't have a lot of experience, so I get bounced every time. This has made me somewhat bitter and most definitely very frustrated. I had a good interview this morning though. I could be selling packs & sleeping bags next week (with a masters degree in Linguistics ).

My relationship is great.

I have a hearing trauma in my right ear, caused by 9 years of rehearsing in confined spaces. And yes I did wear earplugs.

I quit the band I played in since I was 15 (that's 9 years).

I finally figured out what I wanna do with my life, it feels great to have a plan & a sense of direction.

It's getting better, although the hearing trauma sucks a lot.

It has been the best of my life. School is great (a little stressful), things with my girlfriend are awesome, doing lots of live sound, not a lot of live playing. All in all it has been great.

lots of changes for me.
Separated from my gf at the end of 2009. Moved to a new apartment. I take care of my 4 years daughter one week every 2 weeks.
Met a girl, fell in love with her, traveled with her, etc.
I saw my favorite band (pearl jam) for the 10th time this year. The 8th time was in May, In new york, a city I had always wanted to visit.
I fell free. More than ever. But still has work to do on myself, to better understanding who I am (although I'm 30 )

In 2010 I got documentation proving my level of intelligence. Turns out I'm not stoopid.

2011's in for a rude awakening.

Bring it on!

God Bless, Ray

2010 has been amazing.
I went on tour across Canada, and was asked to do three more tours in 2011.

So yeah. 2010 has been great!
