Hey everyone, I recently took a picture of some mountains in Arizona and GIMP'ed in a picture of Shaquille O'Neal so that it looks like he is coming up over the mountains like Godzilla or something. As of right now, it looks half decent but has some flaws. I would also like to have some kind of funny caption. I was hoping that some of you might give me some pointers on how to improve it and maybe suggest some captions. Even if one of you is bored and wants to take it and see what you can do, you can.
Thanks,
WickedPissah |

There's many ways you can get the effect you are looking for. Here's one.
1. Use a pic of Shaq that has a plain background. Then use the magic wand to select the background, and then inverse the selction.
2. Copy the selection onto the mountain pic as a new layer
3. Make copies of the sections of the mountain that will be touching Shaq, and paste them back on as new layers.
4. Take the new layers of the mountain that you created, and place them where they should be. Then erase the layers around where Shaq is until it looks natural.
It's much easier to show someone how to do this than to tell them, but maybe this will make sense. |

Learn to use GIMP's Magic Wand correctly. In short, Shift-mouseclick will add an area to your selection, and Ctrl-mouselick will subtract an area from your selection. You may need to adjust your Threshold value so it just selects what you want. Takes some getting used to, but it will look much better.

This just about killed me....literally. I'm chewing gum and I started laughing so hard I started choking on it.
I'm ok now and still chewing. |
