People are in disbelief when they find out that I accepted a job 45 minutes away from my house.
I find 45 minutes to be about the limit that I would see myself commuting regularly. But what about you? How long is your daily commute?

IN Toronto, it's about 30-45 minutes by Transit on a bad day. |

Most of it is rural driving so it only takes 40 to 45 minutes normally but it can easily stretch to an hour if anything goes sideways in front of me. I consider it to be on the long side for the area I live, but have heard of 2 hour commutes from people I know if California. Seems crazy to me but I guess you do what you've got to do. |

Oh yeah, if I "telework", 5 min (have to get coffee).

| Actually I'm in disbelief that people would be in disbelief about accepting almost any job in today's lousy economy. What is wrong with them? |

I know plenty of people who commute the same trip every day though, and an hour each way wouldn't be at all unusual.

Oh, yeah...there's a bus stop about 1/2 mile from my house. If I want to use it, then I have a 30-minute commute which includes a bus transfer and a wait. Ain't that great??? Walk a half-mile, then the trip takes 3x as long as it takes to drive??? I don't EVER take the bus...the public transportation in this town of 120,000 sux.

I used to live downtown (queen st e.) and travel across the entire city (finch/dufferin), which took an hour and a half. Now I live midtown so everything is reasonably close. |

I was driving to work one day a week on band practice night, but we haven't practiced since the start of the year. So I'm going about once a month. |

Now that I only live around 15 miles from my job, I wouldn't go back to doing 62 miles. Well, I guess I would if I really had to... but I wouldn't like it.
