I'm not as active a philatelist as I was when I was younger, but I still add stamps to my collection if I get a chance.

Yeah, had a truly massive collection at one time: covers, plates, sheets, you name it--probably over 50K stamps US and foreign--- Lost the whole thing a long time ago under circumstances that don't bear talking about-just f'in crushed me. Could not even look at stamps for years without puking. Started back up couple years ago finally and have recently been focusing in BOBs (back of book: documentary, proprietary, other governmental dept stamps, tax revenues, etc----mostly 1860-1930s) and my German collection.

I'm an "inadvertant philatelist" -- I always bought too many postage stamps just before they'd raise the rates! And then I'd buy too many 1¢ or 2¢ stamps to make up the balance, and so those got added to the collection. I got a whole drawer full now!
