If you can what do you do? I'm guessing there will be a few professional musicians here but are there any others??

Less than 20hr/week. But then again I split my rent with a roomate for a one bedroom and I don't drive, nor have pets, nor kids. |

The paycheques really depends on the season. Like right now, it sucks. I live a pretty small life, the trick is knowing how to use your money. |

In my shop anyways, and most major shops in the city. I guess it's different if you're a small shop in a small town. Varies. What do you do that's making you start this thread? |

If I had it my way I would be a successful freelance photographer who's part-time piercer (like I am now) and doodles in real estate as a hobby.
You know one of those people that buy property, fix it up, and sell it for more sorta thing. I just need to know how to get started
>> This plan still allows me to sleep in. It's fool proof.

I work from home quite a lot and fall out of bed around 9.00 and it doesn't seem that early - but there are also commitments involving travel, when I have an occasional early start.
I think in any decent job you have to be flexible?

I get up at 5:00 AM because I have four kids that have to get up for school, so I use the first hour I'm up to meditate. I'm used to being up at 5:00 so I'm up that early on weekends too.
Other than that, I work when I want.

And property developers are evil incarnate!! Pushing up house prices so only the wealthy and second home buyers can afford them !! It's a huge thing in Brighton and in my road there has been huge activity on this - long hours are a big thing for them as well!
So I had to complain about these people coming in and starting banging about in nearby houses at 7.00 am on a Sunday!!
I had a row with one property developer and he was working all hours in the week and weekends to get a property finished and his excuse was the bank were on his back the whole time, to repay the loan he had taken out to do the work. So he was up early and finishing late evey day until it was done!
Noise and disruption ceaselessly!

Today I decided to work from home. It's a good gig.

Just something to consider.

It's just a question, don't worry I'm not gonna base my whole career path on the answers I get on a forum. I'm just interested.

As a matter of fact I always liked to get up early rather than later. But more and more I'm finding that getting up early is terribly difficult. COuld be that I'm longing for a new career...
Oh and I'm a government stooge.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Fort Collins, Colorado | | | I work at a university but I have considerable flexibility in my work hours so I don't show up before 8:30. I don't consider that very early, since I currently live about a 10-minute drive from work. I usually finish up between 5 and 6.
When I need to take an hour or two during the day for errands or personal business, I can do so...as long as I don't let things slide at work.
I'd rather go to work when I do and still have an evening for my personal life. Getting up at 6-6:30 AM is easy after you've done it for a while. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
