How much do you have saved?

Sign in to disble this ad
After the recent debt thread, it made me think how much others have saved (especially with GAS!!).

How much have you saved, and what is the percentage of your yearly income. Oh, and don't lie. (I almost lied about my savings).

$543.00. I'm a full-time college student, I have a part-time job that pays well...I just have a problem with GAS.

It's a measly 1.4% of my yearly salary.

EDIT: HAHA! (math error).

So you are saying that you make $387,857,142.86 as a college student with a part time job?

According to my math you make nearly 4 million a year on a part time job. I guess your honesty policy went right out the window.

I hope you aren't a part time accountant.

Oops Kruton beat me to the punch.

Haha happens to the best of us. I have about $400 saved. I am a high school student who hasn't had a job in about 9 months, looking to get one pretty soon so I can have some spending money saved up for college.

Not real sure

I put 6% of my gross pay into a 401k and have been since 95 when I started working. The places I have worked have put anywhere from 3% to 6% of my pay as matching. I have not touched it at all.

I have a couple $k in the bank in a regular saving account. We put a hundred or so in off each check. It's not really ther to build it's just our incase soemthing expensive brakes money.

Enough to buy a pre-CBS Jazz bass, as long as it's not being sold by Tune-o-matic or Ed Roman.

A few grand in a savings account. Not nearly enough. I keep toying with the idea of putting it towards credit card debt but want to have at least a little cushion in case something bad goes down.

Big chunk o' my income gets sent directly to the stock market via my 401k. I should max out on my annual limit soon, hopefully will be responsible with the larger paychecks when they kick in.

I have a nice amount saved up...several thousand USD.. and I still keep funding my IRA account too since the interest yield is better. Stocks are in the toilet for the moment however.. not too worried as world stock markets will eventually rebound.
