How much of your personality is relfective of your parents ? I deffinetly picked up a few personality chracteristics but its overwhelmingly in opposition though.

I think my mom and I share humor together. |

I share my dad's political views and interests, my mum's morals, wisdom and humour. At first I was kinda thinking "Oh man, I'm exactly like my parents ". But the more I thought about it I realised my parents are actually pretty cool, my friends always get along really well with them and I often get "I wish I had a mum/dad like yours!". So I guess it's pretty cool.
I view both both of my parents very highly and I think it's cool that I've turned out to be a lot like them.

My dad was an engineer, and every year I get more methodical about what I do - and I already know that I learned most of my predisposition to doing my own car and home repairs from him. My mom was a very strong humanist, and I learned a lot from discussions with her.
And I see the same traits in my daughters (19 and 20)...and more of them appear every year. |

In other words, I won't put up with the amount of BS that they did ...
But they were both remarkable people, and I'm thrilled to have their qualities .... |

I even find I do a lot of things he does, like the way he sits back in his lazy boy with one arm stretched over his head ... i started doing that and didn't realize it ..
i've got a lot of my mom's traits too .. kinda best of both worlds

When I was young I just resembled them in large abstract ways, i.e., ideologies and interests. But lately (I'm 47) I find I'm starting to make gestures like them, say things they would say, and even look a lot like them! |
