I'm so drastically different from my parents that most people think I'm adopted. Not better or worse; just different.

Wait to you have a kid and you say the same thing to him as your parents did to you.

I'm nothing like my dad...thank God.

I think my mom and I share humor together.

My personality is almost EXACTLY like my parents. I've been thinking about it lately. I share my dad's political views and interests, my mum's morals, wisdom and humour. At first I was kinda thinking "Oh man, I'm exactly like my parents ". But the more I thought about it I realised my parents are actually pretty cool, my friends always get along really well with them and I often get "I wish I had a mum/dad like yours!". So I guess it's pretty cool.

I view both both of my parents very highly and I think it's cool that I've turned out to be a lot like them.

About 9 years ago I discovered that the older I got, the wiser my parents became. This continues to hold true to this day.

Much of it. My dad was an engineer, and every year I get more methodical about what I do - and I already know that I learned most of my predisposition to doing my own car and home repairs from him. My mom was a very strong humanist, and I learned a lot from discussions with her.

And I see the same traits in my daughters (19 and 20)...and more of them appear every year.

I'm very much a product of my parents combined personalities, except that I have a little bit harder edge than either of them did. In other words, I won't put up with the amount of BS that they did ...

But they were both remarkable people, and I'm thrilled to have their qualities ....

my dad and I have a lot of the same interests .. we never did when I grew up but as I got older they became more aparent .. I even find I do a lot of things he does, like the way he sits back in his lazy boy with one arm stretched over his head ... i started doing that and didn't realize it ..

i've got a lot of my mom's traits too .. kinda best of both worlds

I think that I'm slowly becoming my dad more and more as the years go by. I'll often catch myself saying something or doing something that is SOO like my dad that it's freaky.

More and more the older I get.

When I was young I just resembled them in large abstract ways, i.e., ideologies and interests. But lately (I'm 47) I find I'm starting to make gestures like them, say things they would say, and even look a lot like them!

Why?

Why do you ask?

Are you having an epiphany?

Are you writing a book?

The obvious question is: When, then, will you stop picking that nose?

I'm 100% my father. Stubborn, hardheaded, quick to lose my temper.

If you made a bass for me, all of that would go away. I promise.
