One would hope so.

I was doing well and almost made it through until the backup singer comes in with (?) the lead singer. Any longer and I would need to call a doctor. I think it was a breast cancer benefit. Sounds more like a colon cancer benefit to me.

Comfortably Numb is something beyond a song for me.I shift to another reality listening to it.This also shifted me to another reality that is filled with darkness, hatred etc.,also known as "the dark side".I'm telling you,if I were there listening to them I could choke them via force and say "you have failed us for the last time" with Darth Vader's voice.

I could make it to the point where he does the echo himself. That's saddeningly funny.

It's apparent to me that the main problem with this band was that they were given a stage to perform on. The secondary problem is that there isn't anyone taking the lead in leading the band. The drummer is such a wuss and seems to be following everyone else. Everyone else seems to be following everyone else. Wrong wrong wrong! If the drummer had been a little more forceful in his kick/snare metronome with some proper accenting, the others might have followed him. Definitely a case of the musically blind leading the musically blind ... or maybe 'bland' is the right word in that phrase.

It is what it is ... and what it is, is horrendous. Descending from soapbox ........ now!

agreed. I mean, there's not a bass note in that song that doesn't hit with the kick or snare...no matter how much that line "breathes". But still, the bassist was horrible...

Agreed except, without forcing myself to listen to it again, I think he did actually pluck once on the one. I, for one, was impressed. Or maybe what it was is that the rest of the band just happened to be following him at that precise moment. lol

It's really easy to spot with a band like this that they are ALL in their own head space musically and just not experienced enough to actually open their ears to hear what is going on around them. I hope they all continue doing what they love and leave the music playing to other people. I kid, I kid. I hope they all continue playing music and one day/month/year, that light bulb will blink ON like it does for all of us and they come to realize what it takes to actually play properly with others.

If I was there for that musical train-wreck, I would have been SO tempted to yell at the stage, "Play something you know!"

Actually, if I was there, I would have listened to the first couple of bars and then headed straight for the nearest one.

Everyone's at fault in that band but if I had to single someone out, I would have to sorta agree with Wabbit and say the drummer. My cover band does that song and it's absolutely true that if it's not nailed down tightly by the drummer, it's going to lose all cohesion. Let's face it, the singer sucked, but at least if they had been tighter, it wouldnt have been so bad.

This has been linked in many places, but it bears repeating that this is maybe 10x worse.

I'd easily listen to the first band's entire concert before trying to make it through one song of *this!*

idk I think if I really dumb myself down I can kind of follow what their playing.......but the fact is they just have poor rhythm (inability to get chord changes synchronized with all instruments) and moreover, they lack the ability to really fill sonic space (what playing this song is really about) and make things flow.

For this band, now that they've hit bottom, they can really only move up on forward.

This is like karaoke except the backing track is just as bad as the guy singing the song.

I didn't know whether to laugh .... or cry .... or vomit profusely .... so I just decided to do all three and now the inside of my nose smells like burning.

EDIT: Please tell me this is some kind of staged presentation. It's all a big joke right? Ha ha right? Right?

If you have 30 minutes to waste, PLEASE watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glHUMzfRoQA

The editor makes it pretty funny, and makes some of the video relatively tolerable...sometimes.

Yeah, they sucked hugely. My gawd it was hilariously horrific. How can they show their faces around town? And when it ended, you do hear a little applause, the camera pulls back and you see an empty parking lot---nobody within 30 feet of the stage! The listeners you hear must have been at a nearby bus stop and gave "a-pity-plause".

I did, however, appreciate the singer having his sunglasses on top of his head to achieve that "total look".

Now excuse me while I dig out a bunch of sh*t that somehow got in my ears.
