Just to be clear: I don't mean just Starbucks by coffee joint. Any local mops and pops place also qualifies.

I visit mine two to three times a week. I'd like to see that go down to once every two weeks, and I'm working on that now.

Five to every day. When we go shopping, my wife and I hit the Starbucks. In town, she works at the local mom and pop coffee joint, so I stop by on my lunch break to see her and grab lunch and a coffee (her employee discount is pretty nice).

I never go to coffee houses. I drink plenty of coffee, but I tend to make it myself.

When I do find myself at a coffee type establishment, I always get a cup of coffee. I get befuddled by all of the coffee drink terms that never seem to be in English. Half caf soy macciatto?? Uh......... Just gimme a cup o'joe.

Um, which one? My neighbourhod has a few, to put it lightly.

Once a week, though. Only because I can't make lattes in my house.

We make plenty of our own coffee. I start the day with some Jamaican Blue Mountain most days, if we're slumming it (meaning we're out of the Jamaican Blue and won't be heading to the shop where we buy it for a few days) we get by with Starbucks Red. The espresso at the shop my wife works at is pretty good, though she's recently taken to making me "dirty chai" - a chai with 2 shots of espresso in it. It's pretty good, and she doesn't charge me for it so I don't complain. But, your comment about the coffee drink terms reminds me of the Dunkin Donuts ad about Fritalian coffee menus.

Hokey Pete! I've never seen that commercial before, but they obviously aimed it at people just like me!! I am not alone!! Huh, it's sort of comforting.......

I got a kick out of it. It got pretty heavy airplay in my area for about a month. When I was moonlighting at Circuit City and hitting the Starbucks every time I worked, I'd always order a large instead of a "venti". Most of the baristas got a kick out of it, and none of them tried to force me to say venti. It got to the point where i'd walk in and they'd just start making my drink (the menu would call it a quad venti carmel macchiato with extra carmel, I called it a large carmel with 4 shots and enough extra carmel to put an elephant into diabetic shock) - they'd just call it the diabetic shock special after a while.

Wow, I'm surprised at the poll results.

Maybe alot of people still haven't had their morning cup and noticed this thread yet.

I used to be a serious addict, multiple bags of flavored beans fresh ground in my kitchen daily, drink 3-4 cups to get my day started. Then I realized I was addicted to an artificial stimulant and did a little research on how hard that can be on your system (not for everyone, but I think it was taking its toll on me). Quit cold turkey many years ago. I avoid caffeine in all forms like the plague.

The smell of coffee still drives me crazy and I'll have the occasional de-crap.

Mid/Downtown Sacramento has several really good coffee places, a lot of them have free WiFi too.

Pretty rarely. My coffee and cappuccinos that I make at home are far better than 98% of coffee shops in North America.

Fixed. Carmel isn't a thing.

Rarely. I love coffee but those coffee shops would get pretty expensive as I prefer my coffee in pints, not cups. I just love making a big thermos full of coffee and then slupring it down while taking the dog for a morning walk.

Hardly ever, sure I pick up a DD coffee on my way to work.
Most often when we are meeting someone it takes place at the local brewery.
