How often is Google Earth updated?

I was bored and Googled my address yesterday. I printed the picture to show my family and noticed a tree in my yard that had been cut down months ago.

Google Earth showed my wife's and best friend's car in my driveway. She's my ex-wife now.

(I'm kidding, but I wonder how often something like this has has happened)

I have no idea how often it's updated.

I just installed it again on my PC, after I put a new hard drive in it, and I noticed a bunch of new stuff. I saw that my condo complex now has black top, before it was still under construction and I've been here 6 years.

The view of my college still shows the construction of a stadium finished two years ago.

The view of my house still has my El Camino in the driveway. I sold it in January.

dont get you hopes up of it changing, they dont update it very often unless you're in a big city.

The satelites only take pictures so often, they're not constantly filming.

Looked up my brother's house. It's way out of date as well.

The pic of my parents house has my car in the driveway. I haven't even spent the summer there in several years.

I just check the pic of my house to see how old it is. It's been a couple years since the satellite snapped a shot of my place. Almost like a trip down memory lane when I go have a look.

i bought a house in a village. And in this village, there's a lovely commercial center with 10 little shops or so, which seems to be here from several years. When i looked for the house in google earth, the commercial center didn't exist.

Whenever a satellite takes publicly available pictures. It varies a great deal. The hi-res zones are rented satellites that Google "hired" IIRC.

Depending on where you live, you could always try Google Street Video.

It varies. Some--probably most--areas go for years between updates. I used to be able to see my old car parked out in front of QSC, but the image got updated some months ago.
