I'll see your backhoe/loader ladder guy and add an electrical utility pole.

Email from an African building site supervisor, followed by this pic:-

"Dear Seh

The steel roof and framework she is already constructed.

Please send us the foundation plans and the drawings before the big wind comes.

Regards from Sipho,

Site Supervisor."

A lot of them look incredibly sketchy, but knowing people who have spent years of their lives on the sketchiest ladders I know most of them would do any of those in a heartbeat and not think twice.

What I love about these pictures is that most of them have multiple people in them, meaning that more than one person thought it was a bright idea.

Alcohol, drugs, desperate need to get something done, someone pressures You, etc.

I was declared "THE A-HOLE" foreman when I refused to let one of our rented workers to step onto a I-beam while installing a 150kg sheet of hardened glass to a height of 10 meters. Don't know whether he was actually drunk or just had a terrible hang-over, but he sure smelled like last nights dance music.

When people are in less than stellar mental condition, all sorts of "great" ideas surface.

Sam

i am good friends with alot of tradesmen, and grew up in a rural farming area, so ive seen plenty of these stunts.

most people who live and work in those environments won't even think twice before doing stuff like this.

But ladders balancing in buckets of tractors, thats nothing unusual. however ive never seen multiple forklift stacking, that one takes the cake for me.

i have seen a tractor with backhoe ontop of a truck lifting a guy on a ladder though, didn't even think to take a photo, i was too busy laughing/getting ready to call the ambulance.
