How to stream music wireless from PC to home stereo?

As the thread title asks, how can I stream music from my home PC to my stereo wireless? I know there are products out there to do this. Which are the best in terms of ease of use, sound quality, cost, etc.. Also how to stream music from internet music stations and even subscription services like Rhapsody to my stereo. The goal I have in mind is to control my music as much as possible from the stereo itself and not have to go back to my computer in another room to change staions or genres, files, etc.
Anyone with experience in setting this up chime in please.
I use XM at home but they just dropped the jazz fusion station and 95% of their content I find useless.

A cheap laptop. There is no substitute. There are devices that do this, but they are almost as much if not more than an off lease laptop from Dell Fin. Svcs. and don;t offer the flexibility.
