How to take my amp with me on plane

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm flying to Boston tomorrow from New Orleans, and I have a Markbass mini CMD121P. 30lbs, the smallest one they make. I'd LOVE to bring it with me.

Anyone have any ideas of how to check it safely? Could I box it up?? Anyone done this?

Andrew

Make a box that will accept your amp plus 2" of styrofoam sheet padding on all sides. Also tape a 1/8" sheet of plywood over the speaker side of the cab in case of punctures. Box and ship. Pay the bill.

Or use a headphone practice amp and leave the amp home. Here's one at Sam Ash: http://tinyurl.com/olzxgp
