This is how you do it.

This morning, some guy parks his car on the frontage road along side the highway, goes over the fence, and jumps in front of a semi traveling over sixty-five miles an hour.

He didn't kill anyone else. He didn't get into shoot out with police. An almost honorable way to go. (I say almost because he could have caused an accident this way.)

I dunno... The truck driver will likely suffer over what happened, so I certainly can't say what the guy did didn't affect others negatively.

I've heard of many truck and train drivers breaking down after hitting someone. I've heard some resort to suicide.

Sad...

A very good point.

At least he didn't go and shoot up the mall.

Suicide is bad no matter what. I had a friend hang himself a few years back and it affected everyone in the entire school and way beyond. Spurred a few others to kill themselves as well. Get help if you are depressed.

Suicide is not something that is fun to deal with. Get qualified help and always tell someone else, even if the person doesn't want you to.

Exactly. If you have to take your own life, there are many other ways that don't involve anyone else. Nothing honorable about it in my opinion.

I see your point in the simplicity of how he went about it, not making a scene.

Unfortunately, the repercussions from this decision will resonate down through his family, co-workers, friends, creditors, etc. As has been mentioned, same deal for the truck driver.

Short story.....17 years ago, my sister watched a man shoot himself in the head while sitting in his car outside his house. It was a suicide stemming from family problems. She was walking by with her dog. To this day, my sister will not drive or walk down that street. Any reference to the incident causes her to get very emotional and broken up. She had no idea who this guy was either. She's had people telling her for years to "get over it", but she has not.

I do not condone any form of suicide, but in an effort to get spirits up here's something actually funny that oddly is about suicide http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse....=manly_suicide

My family is good friends with someone who was an engineer for CN and Norfolk southern. He hit a car with 3 people in it, killing all of them. He now wants to die. Yah never know, he could resort in going on a killing spree. reporting this thread.

You're going to report this thread because someone you know is suicidal?

Have at it.

IMO, if the guy now wants to die, he was never stable in the first place. It was a horrible tragedy, and I feel for the dude, but to want to end your life due to an accident that you probably couldn't have avoided in the first place seems a bit off kilter to me.

My cousin killed himself this past spring.

Had a totally supportive family, great friends... was about to graduate college.

Anyways...

Hes not "suffering" anymore.

But I still get to go visit my aunt and uncle every once in a while... She has a blank stare in her face. My uncle barely talks.

My cousins are just trying to get through college themselves.

So ya.

He's ended his problems, and started a whole bunch of new ones.

Personally, I think he's a douche.

What about that model who crashed her car into another vehicle in a suicide attempt? She killed the two musicians in it and only injured herself.
