Hows this for Irony

Sign in to disble this ad
So My best friend from high School calls me sunday night to talk to me about a new project he has in the works and he wnts me to play my 8 sting on it, This is so cool This guy is a good guitar player and a good lyrisist, I hang up the phone to go to bed and I slip and fall against my desk.
I now have two broken ribs and a bruised lung that is building up a bit of liquid in it,
The oppertunity Ive waited 30 years for and now my left hand is usless for now, it will heal ill be ok but touching a Bass right now is torture.

Unless you're using Alanis Morissette's definition of irony, that's just a tragic coincidence.

But I still hope you get better!

Did you somehow siphon off some of my usual luck? That sound frighteningly like that stuff that typically happens to me.

Bummer dude, sorry to hear about it. I'm running with the assumption that you have seen a doc already but can you talk to the doc and see if he/she can prescribe something that might take the edge off the pain to at least allow you to play bass enough to get through the project?

Didn't Juan Alderete have a severe bike crash just before Mars Volta's last tour. He pushed threw & toured even when all busted up.

my thoughts exactly.

an example of irony would be if you had originally not played in a band with the guy because he had sustained some sort of injury back in highschool that got in the way of your plans at the time.

still a bummer though, hope you get feeling better soon and get to play with the guy!
