How's your summer going?

Got a summer job, a cheap pool, found my[formerly lost]wallet today. Snagged a new EHX SMMH & a used Pulsar- my first-ever EHX items. For me, it's the little things that make me smile. How's it going w/you?

It's going well, working a steady job, picking up new hobbies (video and photo editing), hanging out with friends. All in all, it's been a good summer.

My girlfriend is coming back from visiting her family in Korea this Friday. So the summer is looking up finally.

Also, I've been in the gym a lot and changing my diet. This has been a summer of changes for me. Good overall, though.

Up and down. Took a trip to Japan. Had to have my Volvo engine rebuilt (I don't want to talk about it, it's a long story ). Nobody has died at work. I'm looking at a 100 hour check.

Had to cut up my holiday early due to summer school registration problems.I'm posting this from campus right now,so it sucks.Oh and I somehow managed to choose 2 hard courses at once dammit.

OTOH turned my first bass fretless (was a joy to work on it) and I'm gonna put the strings on it today or tomorrow!

The rest is the time spent with beer.

Hot! Big electric bills from running 3 AC units. Making knives, catching up on my backlog. Building and running RC Rock Crawlers with my Son. We got another Boston Terrier puppy, that makes 6 dogs which is insane but my wife and daughter take care of that part of the household They've been doing well showing our English Bulldog so that pays for all the food. Things are going well.

I had a bicycle(me)vs motorcycle head-on about 9 yrs ago & probably should have had sugery for a partially-torn ACL; it's a bit weaker than the other & at about 95% mobility.

I come home from work and my house has been overrun by little girls aged 6-7, all causing various levels of creative mess. Both cars are still running. I found a shop that would put a new crystal on my beloved old REI watch, and he did a pretty good job for $28.00. Bought an SABDDI and it worked well on 2 out of 3 gigs (the second was just too hot.) Water bill went up over $100/month last quarter due to a toilet leak. Daughter Kid got through her Summer reading class and I think that's it until late August - let her be a kid for the rest of the summer, I say

Vacation in upstate NY (Adirondacks) starting August 1. Only got a week, but if I can avoid my wife trying to tell me to do stuff (hike! swim! cook! NOW!) it should be nice enough.

Upstate NY rocks! IMO the Adirondacks are one of the most underrated vactation spots in the U.S. They are amazing!

My summer is going pretty fast... four more weeks of work then I'm back out to school. Partially moving into my new apartment next weekend (just getting all my stuff up there), then I move in for good two weekends later. I can't wait!

Summer??

I don't get one this year. Going to school three nights a week, working full time and gigging on the weekends pretty much shoots my summer all to hell. Ah well, there's always 2009 to look forward to.

Ugh... totaly way too busy for my tastes. I'm moving, I just got a promotion at work which is involving later hours, I've had too many weddings/birthdays/barbecues/social obligations to attend, and the group of dudes I was jamming with in the Spring have sort of faded into obscurity and I've touched my bass a handfull of times. All in all, I'm looking forward to some time where I can put more into searching for/forming a band.

Some good movies out this summer, though. Can't complain about that.

Learning jazz and blues. Doing a lot of theory. Working twice a week. It's not too hot. Pretty good I guess.

It's going well.

I'm leaving in about 2hrs to sign the lease on my new apartment. It's going to be $200 less per month for right about the same size, just in a different neighborhood. For reference-i'm moving from Chicago's Gold Coast to Roger's Park. Instead of being 15mins from work, i'm going to be about 40. 30 more minutes on the bus/train in exchange for $200 less a month going towards rent.

I move a week from today...very little time left to finish packing and cleaning. Once i get back from the lease signing [and a bit before]-i'm going to keep working on it.

This past weekend I played for a Civic production of "Disney's High School Musical" and then the next 2 weekends i'll be playing a run of "My Fair Lady" in a suburb.

I've got a placement test for this fall's classes [community college], and I have to wake up at 5:15AM to get there. That is going to suck.

By and large-summer is going well.

Can't complain really.

I've got this week off of work. Too broke to do anything adventurous but have tickets to ComicCon that go live as of tomorrow evening. First time I'll have gone.

Been taking a creative writing course at the local community college. I'm really glad I've gotten a chance to get back into a classroom and get some juices flowing. I'm not a good self-starter so the structure really helps.

I've been more motivated at work -- mostly because of the class, so I've been getting done early, which unfortunately contributes to my being broke... less OT means lesser paychecks.

I've been playing more volleyball lately. I absolutely love volleyball, I just wish I could play more regularly so I could shake off the rust I've acquired in my game, but scheduling isn't real condusive, especially now that my days are basically filled with work/class/band practice.

Now I just need to get my home recording situation flying again. Will be going over to my drummer's today (our band's computer geek) to hopefully get everything on recently rebuilt PC operating at ideal rates.
