It's interesting reading this article. All I can think is that if you have a wife this sharp, why are you on the internet talking dirty to strangers? Every time I was tempted to tweet, I would be calling my wife up for some sex therapy!

Unless you have some uncommon sources, you don't know why she is staying with him. BTW, she just became pregnant too.

Totally... see Maria Shriver and the Governator. Amazing what people are willing to do in the name of politics. Doesn't totally surprise me though, she's essentially a politician herself, so she's probably got a bit of

in her as well. That may just be me and my dislike of all things about politics, but you don't get that far in politics without being narcissistic and disingenuous.

She's staying with him for the same reason Hillary stayed with Bill: He may yet emerge from this fiasco with some political capital or power, and that's way more important to her than morals, integrity, self-esteem, or personal pride. Otherwise she'd have dumped the slimebucket. For goodness sake, they are still in the honeymoon phase of their marriage (time wise) and he's pulling this crap? Next I suppose that we'll all be expected to feel sorry for him because he's a "sex addict".

The love of power is apparently more powerful to some people than ANYTHING else. Spouses who stay with their scumbucket spouses for political reasons are damn close to the lowest of the low, IMHO.

I just read some stories this morning where they had asked her and her almost exact words were she was going to stay with him to work out the marriage and his political career. The latter was very specifically mentioned. I will have to find the story but it was on one of the major sites (CNN, ABCNEWS, etc).

My post above mentions the bun in the oven.

Why assume politics are the reason ? Shriver/Arnold have kids and until recently the infidelity was not common knowledge. Lots of people in all walks of life stay together through serious relationship problems; and for those in the public eye, it's not unusual for them to at least hold off for a while so that the scrutiny drops somewhat so that at least they don't have their personal decisions appended to still active news stories and judged by the whole country.

As for Weiner and his wife... I forget what comedian said this or the exact words, but it was something like "you show me a beautiful woman, and I'll show you the guy that's sick to death of banging her."

Lots of people have problems with real intimacy with an actual person, so they put their energy into fantasies or affairs where they never have to deal with the intimacy.

Which is not to say that the guy isn't a fool.

Well, remember when Hugh Grant was with Elizabeth Hurley and got caught with the hooker? Elizabeth Hurley was friggin' HOT!!

Who knows? Maybe it's the excitement of something new. Maybe he's just casting his lines out in search of someone to talk dirty to him. Regardless of his reasons, it's pretty poor judgment for a U.S. Congressman...

To some women politicians are just like NBA players, there is a evidently a power aphodesiac out there somewhere. I mean look at Dennis Kucinich's wife

And there is a certain group of women that will throw themselves at these guys just so they can brag to their friends that they banged so and so. I hear it happens with college history professors too, Dr. Cheese.

It certainly doesn't happen with Fly Fishing reps.

Sounds like a way to step down, save face, and then come back later.

Not a conspiracy theorist, but I could see this happening. Makes him look like a family man making the right decision instead of the sleaze he is.

I don't know about "super hot", but she seems reasonably attractive. Maybe she just wasn't doin' it for him in the sack. Sometimes it's just that simple. That's no excuse for being a scumbag, but it might not be all that complicated.
