Humanitarian aid to Georgia

Sign in to disble this ad
My ship is on it's way to provide humanitarian aid to Georgia. Hopefully nothing happens to us so I can get home to my wife at the end of this deployment. We spent several days in Souda Bay loading pallets of water, baby food, toiletries etc. but I have no idea how we are going to get it to shore and the people since Russia bombed and is blockading the port. There is a law against us pointing our guns at them and them pointing their guns at us, there is also a LOT more tonnage of Russian navy than US navy in the Black Sea right now.
Hopefully there isn't a problem with us getting the food to the people and the soldiers don't kill anyone for the supplies. I've never been in a situation like this before and it's kind of scary. If we do get attacked and I die I think my only regret would be that I didn't get to see my wife before I died. Too much time on my hands to think about what ifs Guess it's time to work on my stealth skills...

While I might disagree with you going, I hope you and your shipmates return safe from harm and free from any commie bullet holes.
