I am not smoking again

So, i lit up a cigarette today, inhaled, and then felt like i couldn't breathe for about 2 seconds...

I'm not smoking again. Ever. I almost shat myself, and then coughed for five minutes. It was about 2 hours before i was back to feeling passably normal. I guess my lungs were like "Oh no you don't!".

Anyone else had this happen?

Good idea. It's an expensive habit with no real benefit.

I smoked cigs for about 16 of my 34 years.. I've been off for 3.5 years now and have no cravings for them whatsoever.. I'm glad for that..

If you can stick with giving them up then I encourage you to! My mom told me last night that she has two months off them, not a drag.. She's been smoking for almost 40 years.. Amazing!

Good luck!

I smoked for a few years until Maine started adding on insane taxes. I can't even stand to be around the second hand smoke anymore, AT ALL. I tell all of my friends to either go outside or roll their window down if were in the car enough so that I don't get any of it.

I've never smoked, but used to get huge amounts of second hand smoke playing gigs. Then I married a woman who has allergic reactions to it even if it's on my clothes, so I try real hard to avoid it.

Well after fifteen years with her, now I can't tolerate it. It's bad going to hear music in a club on my rare nights when something is happening and I'm off work. It's worse the next couple of days, waiting for my sinuses to open back up.

I've quit 44 weeks ago after smoking for 5 years.

You can too. Something that really helped of was a cool called EASYWAY to stop smoking.

It's been about a month for me, not even a drag!!!!

I am still coughing though, contrary to popular belief you actually feel like crap for a few months when you quit and will cough more to get all the crud out of your lungs.
