I broke my toe

Yep. Walking into the kitchen late at night. It was dark. And I ran my pinky toe into the corner of the wall. I never knew something so small could cause so much pain.

You should now break your left pinky toe, or at least punch yourself fairly hard in the left ear, if you wish to maintain your equilibrium.

Good job! How long were you on the floor with your foot in your hands?

It took about 10 min for the sweating and nausea to pass.

Apparently you break your pinkie toe around 7 times a year, but (obviously) it's rarely as bad as the OPs accident.

You did that much damage simply walking? Christ...I broke my right thumb once as a result of it being hit by a hurl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurley_(stick)) and it didn't look as brutal as that!

I did that last year, thought I was going to throw up.

First week wasn't great, but it settled down fairly quickly, took about 5 or 6 weeks for the pain to go completelly.

There isn't much they can do for one, unless it's badly broken and needs splinted to another toe. Worth getting checked out incase it's a spiral fracture (why, I couldn't tell you, but the nurse that looked at it told me that is the only thing they need to try and make sure it aint).

Have fun getting your shoes on

Sadly, it is the yeast in beers, especially non-filtered ones, that contain purines, which are often not good for an old codger (age 59) like me with apparent elevated uric acid levels. I have two nice ~yeasty~ Orval's in my fridge. They will probably not survive this weekend. The temptation will eventually win out.

4 beers and I still hurt. Time to switch. Vodka cranberry or whisky & coke?

Given the fact you live in Tennessee, that choice should be obvious!

Old joke:

What's the difference between when a country musician breaks his toe and when a rock musician breaks his toe?

The rock musician misses a month of shows, the country musician writes a top ten hit about it.

Do you find yourself carrying around a large lab vial with a green liquid sloshing around in it?
