I couldn't find driver for my video card though, so I had to take the old one from Nvidia's site and changed the .ini to my video card, it overclocked my vid card hardcore and eventually cause an overheat shutdown on my laptop.

I just hope I score the same thing I did with Vista. Report some problems, get the full version for free later. Woot. I'll run anything on one of my many VMs |

I swore after I got burned on ME I'd upgrade until the OS was proven to actually work. Obviously, I didn't listen and tried to *upgrade* to Vista. It's a joke, in my opinion. I'm quite content running XP SP3 with all my mods. It runs quickly, never crashes, and supports all my hardware/software.
IMO, of course.

IMO, of course. | Just FYI... MS is moving back to the new OS every 2 - 3years (or so) model. Windows XP had a VERY extended life time, and hence why Windows 7 seems "so quick". Realize that Windows Vista was released on Jan 30th '07, so we're right in line with that. |

I almost wish I had a PC right now to join in the fun.

I've stuck with xp for now, but I think i'll get windows 7 when it comes out, looks nice. Vista minus all the crap and problems = good to me.

Once I got the retail version, I haven't had a single bump that wasn't my own doing (suicide overclocks, etc.). Of course, I build a new system just about every 18 months, so I'm never too far behind in the hardware realm, and I don't run any ancient softwares, either. |

Well...I was going to install 64 bit vista anyways eventually.

Hence why those of us who run 64 bit Vista have to have two program files folders (one for 64, one for 32 - automatically handled by Windows though) by default.
I don't know why people still develope in 32 bit. Though I'm no developer, so I'm sure there may be a reason. |
