at work. I wasn't even lifting i turned weird to answer a phone and apparently the angle was just right to pop it out. not the first time just got a reminder of my more athletic days, it didn't hurt, but my arm was numb for about a half an hour after popped it back in. it pops fairly loud now when i raise my arm above my head. I think i might have to get it looked at.

I dislocated my brain the other day, and it's still out of joint.

so does dislocating not hurt at all or that much, or is it just cause you've done it before..?

I can't speak for shoulders, but I dislocated my knee (and hyperextended it and tore a ligament) at a show last year and cried like a baby... That was under the effects of a ridiculous amount of alcohol too!

Wow. It didn't hurt? I've rolled up on guys with dislocated shoulders at the beach and they are crying and saying their last good-byes to their families. One guy asked me to shoot him and put him out of his misery. Good thing I don't work with a gun.

I would say that the fact that you've done it before makes you more prone re-injuring it too.

The "probably" tells me that you won't.

Ain't that the truth... I dislocated my shoulder screwing around on a jungle jim when I was maybe four or five, and it's happened no less than eight times since. I also wouldn't say it ever got any less painful. You get used to it though, which is a very strange feeling.

I dislocated my shoulder in gymnastics. It's not fun, plus the weird feeling when it's out of the socket and then pops back in--AHHHHHHHHHH!

The most important part is the rehab. Once you stretch your ligaments they don't pop back to what they were so you need the muscles around it to be strong. It took me a while to get my flexibility and strength back, and even so, it's always been a little weaker and aches when it's going to rain.

Super weather-predicting shoulder!

I forget what its called, but if it didnt hurt that bad you didnt probably dislocate it. Theres something more minor that still hurts, just not nearly as bad. Ive dislocated each shoulder over 10 times. Thats what 4 solid years of hockey, lacrosse, and football will do. Lacrosse was by far the worst. I still have no strength when im trying to pull things from behind me. Out of those 20 some odd times, i went to the doctor twice, and they dont do anything for you. Maybe prescribe you some pain medication but thats it. Ive actually had to roll on to my side in the middle of a game and have someone sit on my side so my shoulder would go back into the socket. Typically itll hurt for a month or so. I'm not sure going to a doctor will do much, but hey, im not a doctor.
