i went for some drive through fast food, and managed to knock the passenger mirror off my car.  it is gonna cost me about $50-70 to replace it. 
meanwhile it is hanging by a cable off the door as a constant reminder of my fail

My driver's side mirror has been knocked off twice (by a trash pickup truck).
The first time the mirror had the wires still attached. I put a bit of super glue on the door mount and the mirror plastic surround. Held it on for about 5 minutes and it worked fine.
Knocked off again but with the wires broken. Unscrewed the inside plate, reconnected the wires (stripped, twisted, taped). Put mirror back on outside mount and repeated super glue process.
No problem for the last year. |

Even if you have to do $70, that's still pretty gentle in the grand scheme of vehicular mishaps.

I had it less than a week when I ripped my passenger mirror off backing into my driveway. That little number cost me about 200 bucks. Needless to say, I am a little more careful backing into my driveway now.
