At band practice tonight my long time friend and guitarist heard me playing some solo stuff while they were out having a smoke, and told me to stop trying be a guitar player in a really ignorant tone. (he is always going on about how he hates it when bassists use effects and tap and do anything really other than play basic rhythm). I socked him in the mouth. Felt good.

I'm the non-violent type but why do so many guitarists think that they know what makes a bassist? Granted there are plenty that do it just seems that the ones who have no idea are the loudest.

I'm fortunate enough to have played with guitarists who not only understand what a bassist is, but also encourages me to do crazy stuff like that. And by crazy stuff, I mean effects and tapping, not socking people in the mouth.

I'm not for violence but....when someone is giving their mind a treat at your expense......fair game

| | | | A healthy, able-bodied adult male hitting another healthy, able bodied adult male one time in the pucker is not violence, particularly if the two are friends/band mates/acquaintances.
It is settling differences, establishing boundaries, or one could even say teaching him not to run his mouth.
Kudos good sir. |
