I Friggin Love Japanese Food

I love Japanese food. Tonight I went to a Japanese steakhouse with the neighbors and my brother. It was a great experience. It was one of those things where you all sit around the grill and the chef guy makes the food right in front of you. We started off with miso soup and some salad with ginger dressing, then came the sushi, which was salmon wrapped in rice wrapped in seaweed. Then, we got the little bowls of rice. After that, the chef came and the fun started. He made the vegetables, which included the onion volcano (rings of onion are built up like a volcano, then some type of alcohol or something is poured into the middle, then a lighter is placed into the hole...fire!). Then the shrimps were made, and we got the vegetables. After all that we got the chicken and steak, which came with some bean sprouts. Boy, was it great. The meal ended with some mango sherbet. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

Who else loves some Japanese food?

Hey!! I'm on that Japanese food too WickedPissah... but having been to Korea several times I'm gonna have to say that Korean chow really gets my wagon rollin' pretty good also. Japanese food is colourful, fresh, fun to eat and healthy.. and you can pretty much say the same things about Korean dishes as well.

What you ate is called teppan. It's delicious. Try yakitori too. It's Japanese style Korean BBQ. The Japanese also have their on style of different country's foods Japanese Italian. Japanese Chinese and even there interpretation of western coffee shops. You have just embarked on a delicious journey. Japanese food is what I eat five to six nights a week. Another cool thing about Japanese restaurants is the plethora of sexy Japanese waitresses.

I've been there--it's pretty good. There are teppan restaurants all around the Boston area. You gotta go to Porter Square, though, for the best and cheapest sushi.

I had Tepanyaki for the second time the other day. At our local restaurant the chef likes to get you to try and catch the food in your mouth. The first time I went the chef through me a bowl and then threw rice at me to catch in the bowl. Great food.

So does that make Canadian bacon just bacon in Canada, or just ham?

I had some stuff here called Tataki, that was pretty righteous.

Little slices of lightly grilled tuna steak.. mmmm

Ah, how I miss food!

Or rather, affordable food. Fortunately, I don't live too far away from Mitsuwa Marketplace, but everything is so much more expensive because it's all imported. Still, they're having their annual Natsu Matsuri tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to gorging myself on festival food like yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) and kara-age (Japanese fried chicken)

I went to the one in Revere. I know there's another in Cambridge near Allston as well.

Yeah, I was just being funny... you're obviously from Canada...

But, when you order it on a pizza, do you have to specify Canadian bacon? Just curious... I mean you're in Canada... isn't that redundant?

What about English muffins?

The place near my house does some pretty mean soft shell crab rolls... can you get those over there?(japan, not Canada)
