Either that, or Im just a real prince!
Heres the deal.. I get home from work this afternoon, jump on craigslist to find a newly posted add for a Martin D-18 acoustic guitar $250.00 or best offer.
I call the number, a young person answers, I ask him a few questions about the instrument...... He tells me it is a 1960, that his dad bought brand new. Has the original case, is in very good condition except for the fact that the neck had a crack in it just below the headstock, other than that, it was great. He told me that another fellow was on his way to get it as we spoke.
Im not sure what compelled me to tell him to not be there when the person arrived, I guess I just did not want to see him ripped off! He told me neither his Dad or himself knew much about guitars, and they figured that was a fair price.
He asked me if I could top thier offer,.. I just told him that I thought it would be a good idea if he pulled the add untill he had done his homework a little better..
Am I an idiot? Or do you think I did the right thing?
( Im a firm believer in Karma Any thoughts?

Perhaps the guy buying it didnt know its value either, and just wanted a guitar at a good price. It was nice of you to inform the seller that he could fetch more cash for his gear, but it certainly isnt karma of any sort. Karma wouldnt concern itself with such trivial things.

In other words: | I did think about the perspective buyer, and it did make me feel a bit bad.. Its just that I could not stand the thought of this father and son getting so screwed here.
Perhaps I should have just stayed out of it, but its not like I tried to score it for myself, dont get me wrong, I would have loved to have had it myself, ...... but not like that.

Peace,

(Would it have been wrong for loan agents to tell clients that they shouldn't refinance their homes in such a bad time?)
(I'm might be too stern about this...)

But that doesn't make you a dumb a--. I can live with stuff like that. Maybe you can't!
