So as you know I surf. I have a good collection of boards that I ride. This is a picture of eleven boards.
Well, last week my buddy gave me his fish. He's decided that he only wants to ride single fin hull shapes. He asked me if I wanted his 6'0" fish and I promptly replied with the old knee jerk. "I don't have any money."
"Do you want my fish for FREE?"
This guy lives in LA. I told him that I'll be right up. Well this last weekend in the midst of finishing up my friggin' 50 page thesis, and bouts of sleep deprivation, I woke up at 5 am and jammed down to San Diego to surf Sunset Cliffs on my new fish. Here are a few pics. This little boards has revitalized my love of surfing. All hail the fish. I really don't know why I'm sharing this with a bunch of bass players, but to put this into perspective this is like someone giving you their Lakland because they just want to play MIA Fender Jazz basses. Moral of the story. Good things happen to bad people sometimes.
A fish is a different type of board. They're short (this board is two inches shorter than me), but designed to glide with high maneuverability. These boards require a lot of flow and carving approach to waves.

I was wondering if you had heard about them or not. My Uncle is one of the owners of that company, and his oldest daughter, my cousin Courtney, surfs on their team. I think they only do clothing and stuff, not much. Small company. |
