I Got New Shoes!

Sign in to disble this ad
All my shoes are old or old and beat up. Or completely unserviceable.

My wife wanted to hit the mall yesterday, so we went- and we were cruising through Boston Store and my wife told me to check out some shoes. Browsing the clearance rack I came across these:

It's interesting wearing shoes that aren't boots, and don't have the heel corners all worn down. I've been very happy for the past day!

Get some Danskos

The Dansko staple clogs are the best shoes money can buy. They are expensive but last forever. I have a pair that I've worked a year straight in a kitchen as well as live my life in and they are still going strong.

http://www.dansko.com/flash.aspx#det...apled%20Clog,1

Seriously, last pair of shoes I'll need to buy for the rest of my life.

Born.

Never heard of them until yesterday.

They were pricey, they were on sale and on clearance on top of the sale price- otherwist they would have been too pricey for me.

There was a set of boots that were very similarly styled (the same shoe but a little over the ankles), but not on sale or on clearance. I didn't see them on the website.

I've got boots that I've had for 20 years. I wore them pretty much every day for 3 years, and have used them as work boots and occasional wear since then.

However, I'm under no illusions about them being actually "serviceable." At this point, they're lawn mowing shoes only.

Duck brand tape has inherently superior arch support control.

Next time I apply for a job, I'm putting that award on my resume.

Last year I went out and spent a lot of money on a pair of nice New Balance running shoes. They are exceptionally comfortable and I wore them quite a bit until my cat pissed in them a couple weeks ago.

My other pair of shoes is some Doc Martens that I won in a contest sponsored by Soul Coughing back in 1997 or so. They've served me well, but recently they got a crack in the sole without me realizing it. I was up in Omaha this weekend and every time I stepped in snow my left foot got wet.

All I have left is sandals, so this thread is timely. Thanks!
