So this month our phone contract is running out, and my wife and I are shopping for new carrier/contract/phones. And it's driving me nuts...
We currently have ATT, and almost no reception inside our house. I'm sure we can complain and get a booster tower thingy for the house, but I'm just sick of them and want to move on. I love Sprint because of the 4g and good data plans (and the Evo) but apparently our house is kind of a dead zone for them too and they still charge roaming, apparently? So it's down to Verizon, Tmobile, and ATT.
We're looking for: good service in the Seattle area, unlimited data, moderate texts, and we really don't need that many minutes. Phone wise we want some variety of Android, but are open to different types. |

Good service, the couple of times I've talked to someone in customer service they've been stellar, and with my discounts that I have they're the cheapest I can get for what I have. |

Been a customer for about six years now, and I have no gripes about their customer service whatsoever, it's just that my house is a T-Mobile dead zone, not to mention too many other spots in my area. I have to stand out in the front lawn or in the driveway just so my signal doesn't drop out ten times over the course of a conversation. However the rest of my family has Verizon. They rant and rave about the coverage of Verizon, and at my house their phones work just fine. I'm thinking about switching over when my contract ends this spring.

My daughter now has an Iphone so we still with ATT.
I'll look into Verizon in the future. |

I got the Android based HTC Incredible; great for everything business to fun and the unlimited data plan is like $20/mo. If I remember correctly, AT&T's comparable plan was $50/mo.
I didn't think I needed a smart phone but my son convinced me and I'm glad he did. I can now do everything by voice input: texts, emails, web surfing, etc. Great relief for my arthritic hands. There are so many useful features, games and apps available, it boggles the mind. NO I don't work for them.

So far the signal's much more consistent and has 4G coverage. Cost should be the same. Haven't gotten my first bill but looked like I was going to be within a dollar a month of what I was paying for lots of dropped calls and a slower network.

| | | | So your gripe is switching carriers, no necessarily phones right?
I don't know of any carrier that doesn't have dead zones throughout the country.
I also know that part of the problem folks have with dropping calls is older phones, not always the fault of the carriers coverage. There is a reason for most carriers offering a free phone or rebate/discount deal after a 2 year contract expires, old devices are not ment to function correctly in an ever-changing cellular technology market.
