And its a real kick in the teeth when my boss can do is talk down about what i do and give me ****. I have never been more happy to leave a job than i am now. I have my dream job calling my name and im leaving the state for it soon. I came inches away from telling my boss flat out "im done. I want my pay in full right now". Ive never felt so disrespected in my life. I know some of you are going to say just finish up my two weeks and be done but it is oh so tempting to tell my boss to go sit on a rail spike. Ive done so much for that place and i catch ****

If you don't really need the money from the last two weeks, talk to your boss about leaving sooner. Starting a new job with the stink of the old one still on you may not make for a good start. Yes, you're done with the old one but little things may set you off when there's no good reason for it, other than the fact that you can't completely leave a bad situation behind without some time lag between the time being PO'd and no longer PO'd. A week off to clear your head and getting prepared for the new job can work wonders.

I worked for someone who was a Sgt in the Army and he was a bit, shall we say, "quick to fly off the handle". OTOH, most of us were pretty quick to throw it back in his face, so we had a regular fireworks show going on. One day, he tuned someone up in the front of the store, with other employees and customers present and this has never set well with me- it might have been me, but I don't remember. That night, we had a sales meeting, held by his wife, who had little/no actual sales experience but she was the VP and secretary of the company, so..... At the end of the meeting, she asked if anyone had more comments and I said, turning to him, "Yeah- if you're gonna tune someone up, take it out back or outside. Doing it in front of others makes people look like an a-hole". At this point, his wife laid into him in front of everyone else and I said "I have to go". He looked at me and mouthed, "Thanks, a lot". I smiled and walked out.

Jobs suck. Bosses suck. Coworkers suck. Customers suck. People suck. The more personal you take things, the more disappointed you'll be in life.

Over the years, I've only really had one cool boss. Most were hard asses. More than 99% of the time, I'm not recognized as being worth a crap. Ever now and then I get the urge to try to make sure it's known that I'm one of the best. Even then, I'm well aware that the odds are very unfavorable.

Just do your job and do your best to stay off the radar. Jobs are just jobs and a means to an end. As long as they're paying you, tough it out. My department is now downsizing. I'll bet they're wishing they were allowed to tough it out now.

I need the pay so badly though. I start this new job in aprox 3 weeks in new york. I need every cent i can get to ensure im not homeless when i get there.

What everyone js saying is that hes POed that i got my dream job and im leaving him. Which seems right. Via text he said i never appreciated the tips he gave me (even though everytime i told him that he didnt have to and i felt i was jist doing my job and said thank you) but then said if i was a new employee id be fired two months ago yet he has been tipping me all along. He stuck his foot in his mouth on that one big time.

Its a messy situation and im honestly glad its over except for having to go back to collect my 3 weeks owed pay. He can be stressed all he wants, as i told him, i wanted nothing more than to please him and make the job run smoothly. Thats just how i am.

Im glad im leaving here in a couple weeks. And if he texts me all cheery "hey danny boy can you come in" im going to tell him no. Another thing he doesnt seem to get is that im leaving. He told me "take the next two weeks off" I WONT BE HERE ANYMORE. I truely hope he realizes his ways. He talks down to everyone, even the head chef.

Rant over

*edit- I hate people too.....
Hahaha!

While its funny im not going to belittle the guy calling him a pole fancy. Im going ti take the high road and let him talk his talk and ignore it. I only have to see him one more time in my life and thats it

As an executive in a company, you have a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders to keep profits up. I've always found that the easiest way to do that is to keep the employees happy. In my company, the people who did a really good job liked me. A lot. The people who who did OK liked me, more or less. The people who did a bad job didn't like me so much, but not for long. Now that's not in the past tense because they all hate me now - I just don't work there any more. But I'm not embarrassed to show my face there. I still have a lot of friends there, and not just the partners.

There are good bosses out there. I know a bunch of them. But some truly do suck and my only suggestion to their employees would be to find something better. Life's too short.

Talk to him and tell him what you've been telling us. Find out if you still have a job, if not find out why.

Then if you want to aggravate him, file for unemployment !

Good Luck in whatever you do !

He can't fire you if you already quit., which you did. So he's saying you don't have to complete your notice period.

In future try not to have arguments by text. It has to be the worst method of communication for anything serious or complex. Man up and talk to people face to face.

Move on, this won't be the first time you are underestimated or exploited, it's the way of the world and good bosses are rare ( as are good workers).

I'm fully aware of the pain involved, especially when you knock yourself out doing a good job for someone and they take advantage or belittle you, I'm not downplaying your experience. Just saying you should calmly discuss your experience in future and move on without ranting or planning revenge because it will gain you nothing, nor will it make him behave better, and it might bite you in the arse down the road.

Perhaps, but it's a 2-way street...

When bosses finally get employees who work hard and take pride in their work, they either treat them as badly as one who doesn't or promote their friends to higher or better positions.

Kind of hard to respect a boss like that.
