I've never had any computer of any description that crashed every 10 minutes. It's not Windows' fault there's too much garbage installed on that machine.

That is all

I actually like it! It's been running flawlessly on my laptop for 6 or 8 months. Never even burped, and with enough RAM (2G) it runs great!

What software were you using? Was the software crashing or was it Vista.

I have Vista on a Sony VAIO laptop that I bought right when Vista came out. While I don't like Vista (mainly the way the Explorer windows work now), it has never crashed on me. I don't use it for much though. I've done some recording on it with Sonar and I watch TV and DVDs on it.

Your post points more to you being the problem than vista....

Vista has plenty of things wrong with it, and I for one will not be defending it anytime soon, but the whole trolling cult of Mac thing gets pretty tired when you say it "crashes every ten minutes" as if that had nothing to do with the user.

MS office and firefox.

it was like someone gave the machine acid. the toolbar for office was there with the firefox window and i had an address bar and status bar on MS office. then it started flipping back and forth between the two windows without me wanting it to. then it would die

I don't specifically defend Microsoft, I have both PCs and Macs, I just think people who make sweeping generalizations based on 1 exaggerated experience sound ignorant, and my indirect suggestion is that they actually educate themselves and use the product in question more than once, and actually consider all of the variables at play, instead of going for the easy insult.

But hey, do what you want.

I've only had it for a few weeks, but I have no complaints whatsoever. I thought it was going to be bad, but I have had zero problems with it.

Vista runs great on AMD 64 processor with 2 Gigs of RAM.

It looks like Vista SP1 is pretty stable for those of you who haven't installed it yet.

My Vista doesn't crash.

Using the same logic you used, every Vista doesn't crash.

I have a recently new laptop, and home desk computer. Each are running off of 2 gigs of ram.

I HATE Vista. It is takes a fortnight to load up on initial startup, and here recently it has been locking up with "not responding"......the HD making the "thinking" noise almost constantly. That might be a problem with the hard drive itself, but it's present about 50% of the time.

A couple blue screens of death.

None of my video editing programs work on vista, and I have to spend a fortune to use office at the end of this month to keep using the programs I NEED, and already had a working copy on office 97 which is all I need.

I strongly believe I will be asking for an XP downgrade from my machine manufacturer at the end of this month when my office software asks for money.

Vista works great on my desktop (Vista Ultimate 64-bit, 4gb of ram) and my notebook (Home basic, 3gb of ram)

While the operating system is a resource hog at times, I expect it to develop nicely with impending service packs.

So, you publicly admit this is a trolling thread. Consider this a warning. DON'T DO IT AGAIN. And BTW, I am a Linux user, so I have no horse in this particular race.
