I have NEVER known the Premier League to be as tight as this!

Amazing day in the Premiership today - what has been looking like a tight finish at the bottom just keeps getting tighter and tighter, and today has really turned the screw even more.

Great win for the Wolves today, it keeps them right in the mix. Without that, I'd fear the worst. Who's going down? Any three from eight, with just three points between them.

BBC Sport - Football - Barclays Premier League table

I've attached a little graphic I made to show how closely this race is being run.

COME ON YE WOLVES!

What a frustrating day for the Gunners! They go 2-0 down to West Brom, due to absolute incompetence by Almunia and Squillaci, and then fight back to a 2-2 draw. A win sure would have been nice. I was encouraged seeing Van Persie, Chamakh, and Bendtner all on the pitch at the same time. GREAT goal by Arshavin too....

I swear though, Almunia, Squilllaci, and Denilson have to be three of the worst players in the EPL.

Well done Wolves though....and well done West Ham. Keep looking UP at us in the standings Spurs!

I'd really like to see Wigan stay up, but I think they are doomed.

For most of this season, I've wanted to see all four of my local teams (Wolves, West Brom, Villa and Birmingham) beat the drop, as I think it's good for the region if we're well represented in top flight football. BUT...

... over the last few weeks I've got sick of hearing Albion fans crowing about how they think they'll stay up and Wolves wil go down. It's not looking anywhere near so certain now. So, if the reverse happens I will laugh like a drain at the pathetic blue and white snot-nosed intellectually lightweight inbred losers!

You could have done us a real favour with a 3rd goal today, Pat, but I'll settle for 2-2. I chuckled when I saw that Albion had thrown a two goal lead. That could cost them very dearly at the end of the season, I think.

The very best joke I know is about a scouser at the barbers. But it has to be told in a scouse accent or it just doesn't work.

League Two is where it's at! C'mon you Shrews!

As a Toon fan (yes, I have multiple teams, so shoot me...) I kinda switch off from the Prem now and then...

Sorry, could you repeat that please? I'm having trouble understanding the slurs, non-differentiated vowel sounds and lack of definition in your consonants.

Actually, I quite like most UK accents, including the ones you mentioned - but with the exception of NI / Belfast. The folks from those parts sound dreadful to cultured ears. Whine, whine, whine - nasal, nasal, nasal - whine, whine, whine. Just like Ian Paisley. Horrid sound.

What a ground! It's where I started to go to football week-in-week-out. Beating Plymouth 3-1 with 10 men, a couple of derbies with Telford, beating Rochdale 1-0 to go top for a week, the 3-1 against York I took my Grandpa to and THE BEST goal I've ever seen, in a sunny 1-0 win over Blackpool. Then of course, there was the FA Cup

I feel like I'm 7 again...

That should really be "Chelsea ARE...". Clubs are referred to with plurals over here. Just a heads up in case you ever get over here for a visit.

LOL....I actually enjoy hearing the different ones too Bill. I'm trying to get better at recognizing each one. Every time my wife hears someone from England, she asks me what part they are from. Sometimes I can tell, sometimes I can't! My mother is easy. She pronounces "cafeteria" as "cafurteriur"

No, sir, that is a soccer field.

That, my friend, is a football field.

You'll notice the difference, because in one game, they touch the game ball with their feet.
The other game has players touching the ball with their hands.

They're named accordingly.

Hopefully education is still in your future, so you can one day learn the proper names of proper sports.

Best of luck to you and yours,
DoS.

I lived in SoFlo, so I'm a Fins fan, and know all about this little game of yours...
