I need some help. I have a pupil wanting to learn Serbian. Only problem is I've only ever taught in isolated lessons, never a full course of sessions.
So, how should I do this? I'm using Skype to teach the spoken language and a special online site for written Serbian. We've both got the same course book and he's a beginner.
Any help?

Here is a link to a helpful database of language learning software, maintained by the University of Hawaii. http://nflrc.hawaii.edu/NetWorks/NW31/ |

Any help? | If you're not sure of your own competancy then don't offer to teach. You will hurt your student more than help if you are a crap teacher.

The idea is that we act as speaking partners to each other as well as me helping him to learn the basics of the language. We're helping each other.
And for your information, it was HIS idea!

Bob: So what do you look like?
Fassa: Well I've got a barf stain on my bass.
Bob: LOL. W...T....F....?
Fassa: IDK. I was really drunk and trying to impress my church group with my Serbian.
Bob: Ooh. I want to learn how to speak Serbian.
Fassa: I can teach you. I know three words.
Bob: Let's set up a webcam.
Fassa: Hey that's a great idea.
Bob: Then you can create pron... uh, I mean.... uh lessons for me.
Fassa: This is a great idea. I'll go brag about it on Talkbass. Everybody loves me there. I'm kind of like their queen.
Bob: Could you wear a school girl outfit?
Fassa: But I'm the teacher.
Bob: Ohhh. You want to play THAT way. I get it. I'll be your pupil that needs to be punished for not speaking proper Serbian.
Fassa: Haha. Rofl. LOL's. I <3 Serbian. |
