I know it's pissing my neighbors off...

My daughter is in the backyard swinging on the new swingset I built my kids for Christmas and she's singing/yelling at the top of her lungs. The song seems to a hybrid of someone else's work (probably Hanna Montana, despite my best efforts) and her own. Most of it doesn't rhyme. The last verse ended with "if you touch the sun, you'll be burned up into sand".

They won't be pissed once she signs her first record contract.

It's funny how we grow up and forget how cool it was to be a kid. If I were you, I'd go outside and join along....

You can never be angry about the sounds of kids playing. That's pure.

I fully agree. I bought this particular swingset because it will hold adults

We also have a mudhole in the back yard for the girls (they made it). My wife hates it, but I figure you can only get away with this kinda stuff for a short while.

The sounds of kids playing is fine, but screaming at the top of their lungs is not. That would piss me off.

naaah, it always rocks! Even when I'm picking up the pieces of the crystal lamp that my 10 year old just broke, and my little one has a stankin' load in his drawers while the oldest one's trying to explain quantum physics... my head hurts, my anxiety level is through the roof and I'm personally shoring up Sierra Nevada Brewery's stocks, but I'd never have it any other way!

Wanna' bet! It aint music to my ears on a Saturday morning at 6:30 am when one of my early rising neighbors send their two screaming kids and three barking dogs outside, and I got to sleep about 3.00 a.m. Other than that I usually love kids and dogs.

Fair enough. I OTOH have had some sleepless nights, holding a screaming baby, when I reflected fondly upon my D.I.N.K. years.

Most of the time it freaking rocks.

ahhh OK, the colicky screaming baby at 3am, when you have to get up for work by 6.
OK, I'll go with that one, I had almost forgotten about that part of it all. (some things I try to carefully wipe from memory!)

Mike, thanks for sharing. My daughter can't sing in key, but it's the sweetest sound.
