I may be moving soon!

I have a phone interview for a job with a pharmaceutical company in upstate New York (Rouses Point, NY) coming up soon. If hired, I'll be moving in two to three weeks. If anyone is familiar with the area please share any info that you have.

Thanks!

Mike

I hope you got your Mukluks stowed in the basement.
Global warming hasn't hit upstate yet.

Hawaii to Siberia would be a compatible move as well.

Get ready for the snow, on the plus side you can snowboard.

So, Aloha shirts and shorts are not an option then?
I don't wear short pants anyway.

I'm originally from Massachusetts and I still recall what cold weather is like. I also spent a winter in Loring, ME with 3-feet of snow and sub zero temps.

why the hell would you go from Hawaii to New York?

it's like ending your permanent vacation to go back to a cold, miserable little hole in the ground.

Hey now! No dissing the Empire State, ESPECIALLY the upstate.

Well, you'll be quite close to Montreal, which is a fun weekend spot if you're looking for somewhere to go. You are also quite close to one of the most beautiful parks/mountain ranges in the United States. You're along Lake Champlain, which has some very beautiful parts.

You'll love it!

Two interviews completed, one to go! If the last interview goes well, I'll be heading to Rouses Point, NY.

Good luck!

And those cross country flights should give you plenty of time to consider a new username.

I'm also curious on this.

Why are you leaving such a beautiful place?

I don't know Rouses Point in particular, but it is absolutely beautiful up there. the Adirondacks are spectacular. As long as you're ready for the cold (and it sounds like you are), then I think you'll love it. I would love to live up there myself.
