I miss my pinky

So I cut off a small chunk of my left pinky yesterday. Sucks, and hurts. I can't play with 3 fingers. I hope it heals enough to play soon. Damn red peppers! I've been dicing with that knife for 20 years...

That's why my fingertips stay tucked back and I use my knuckles to guide the blade.

I own an incredibly sharp knife that I use for work and I have a ton of respect for it, although I will say that dull knives are more likely to cut you (and hurt more) than a sharp one. Pepper skin is tough and a dull knife will just glance off it push the knife in the direction of your fingertips.

This is all Knife Skillz 101 which hopefully you already have.

Did you just nip the tip? Or did you hit bone?

I have knife skills/knowledge. It was just a momentary lapse. Stupid. No bone, but a few layers of skin/flesh.

I jammed my left index finger over 3 weeks ago, popped it out at the knuckle.
While there is no pain and just a little swelling left it wasnt until last saturday that i was finally able to play my bass unhampered...

These things happen. I got distracted by a driver once as I was cutting about ten sandwiches for a cater. Caught the tip of the blade on the front edge of the board. My hand slipped off the grip, up the blade and sliced open every single one of my fingers. **** that hurt.

Unfortunately, with knives and firearms it only takes a moment's inattention.

I have made errors with both - fortunately the firearms error did NOT result in a round being discharged.
