I Need a better cell-phone plan.....

im currently paying about 50$ a month for something that I almost NEVER use. which worked out well when i was both swimming in the dinero AND didn't actually know how little I would use it.

Concievably I'd like to be able to slap some dough on an account every so often for minutes, but not have it "expire" every 30 days. Yes, that's how little I use my phone..... I wouldn't even get close to using up 10$ of minutes even at 50c/min.

Other than that, maybe something that just sends me a bill for the mins i use in a month.

A co-worker just got a virgin mobile prepaid cheepy phone for all the 4 jobs he works at and doesn't have any huge complaints about it. I did look on the virgin site for prepaid (http://www.virginmobile.ca/vmc/en/pl...ml?link=footer) and there is a 35c/min by-the-minute option that actually includes call display (currently have on my phone) and voice mail (which i don't have, but would like....).

Anyways, some advice would be much appreciated

Also, I live in Canada

before I jumped to the 'mobile computing' type Android smart phone I was REAL happy with www.boostmobile.com

Cost me like $15 every 3 month for real minimal usage.

I use Virgin Mobile for my cell phone. I don't know if the deal is any different for Canada, but in the U.S. they have a $25/month deal that works for me: 300 anytime minutes (10 cents a minute after those get used), unlimited text and internet. Their phones aren't the greatest, but if you are only looking at occasional use, then they do the trick.

We use Tracfone prepaid phones pay about 100 bucks a year and that's it. we can text, have call forwarding, call notes and other features all at no additional fee. Not the newest or fanciest phones but they are reliable and I have never been in an area with no service.

Koodo Mobile

For $25 a month, you can get 100 minutes (I never use all of them), unlimited texting (this includes unlimited local pics and videos, as well as unlimited international normal text messages which is IMO the best part of it all), free calling after 7 PM on weekdays and free calling on weekends.
(includes call waiting and conference calling).

I complain a bit about the service (only in delayed texts sometimes), but for someone who won't ever use it, you'll do good with Koodo.

Call me crazy but it seems like what you're saying is you don't need a phone.

Looks decent. Might still go with virgin tho. All prepaid stuff expires, but I can plunk down a hundy that's good for a year. I prolly wouldn't need to put any more than that on, but even if I do end up spending another 100 (200 total) on it, it's still costing me about 550 a year right now and I only use around 5-6$ worth of minutes a month.....
