I need a decent job!

I realize the odds of finding one through Talkbass are pretty friggin slim, but hey, I figured I'd put it out there!

While I'd prefer to find something in or around Augusta, GA, I'm not opposed to moving for the right job.

A little about me:
- 8yr veteran of the US Air Force (was a cryptologic linguist).
- I have a degree in Political Science, minor in Psychology
- I still have a security clearance
- I have extensive experience in the intel career field
- I have leadership experience (was an NCO, and also ran a room of 10 people in a multi-service environment)
- I have a ton of experience with briefings/presentations
- I can type >60wpm
- I have a lot of (nonprofessional) experience working on cars
- I'm not too bad at bass
- No drugs, no health problems

So if anyone knows of any decent jobs that I might qualify, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!

(Sorry if this is in the wrong section...I didn't think that "Bassists wanted" was any more appropriate than Offtopic!)

There are always a lot of jobs in San Diego that require military security and clearance. I work in logistics (non military) but I hear about it all the time.

good luck to you

I've actually applied for a few jobs out there. Thanks for the heads up though!

SRS is said to be hiring. They held some job fairs recently in your area.

^^^ I've been watching them like a hawk. Most of the jobs are either engineering, QA, or IT. But I've applied for a couple that were more in my ballpark.

Sounds like you have one heck of a resume'

I'm sure with your qualifications, you will find something that pays well.
Good luck to you.

Wow...that's a nice load of experience there. Any employer would be more than happy hiring you.

Unfortunately, last time I was in Augusta, GA, it didn't seem like the Cryptography Capital of the World. Have you looked for a civilian position on Ft. Gordon? That's the home of the army Signal Corps, whole bunch of AITs there (including mine) which you probably wouldn't be interested in, but I know that they do some actual "real" work over there too, several fenced-off/ECP'd buildings with many antennas on the post. I'm sure there's an opening there for something similar to your career.

Peace,
Greg

That's actually where I got most of my experience (Ft Gordon)! So naturally, that was the first place I started applying to.
