I never claimed to be smart.

But I am observant and analytical, so that is enough.

I wouldn't ask you guys questions if I thought I knew what I was doing.

That is all.

I think you need to be smart too in order to make smart decisions.

I don't think so. I think being well informed is good enough.

No thing, jmatt.

I just thought some of the attitudes the last couple of days weren't really needed. I view this forum as a social place, but also as a valuable resource with an unfathomable amount of years in experience. It just disappoints me when people don't share their knowledge, I mean, how are we supposed to get better?

Having lots of information is good, but unless there's an understanding of how or where to apply it, it doesn't do you a lot of good.

I've seen this frequently with college students. I like to call it "educated beyond their intelligence".

My bad, I just sort of assumed your addendum. I know what you mean though. My sister is one of those. Has a degree in a language she already speaks. :-p

The questions are not stupid, the people that are being asked the questions are stupid.

on questions though... i come from the school of

Asking the right person the right question!

^intelligent people figure out quickly who the right person and right question are... you may have to ask several wrong people or the wrong question several times... but once you get both right you get the info your seeking... heck you may have to ask the right person the right question (but different from your original question) several times before you get an answer to the original question

so your either asking the wrong person

or

your asking the wrong question

My friends and clients think I'm smart, but some 20-year-old art school students I've run into think I'm gibbering white trash.

They also claim to know how to fix all that's wrong with society.

Depends on who you talk to.
