I really should learn Spanish...

Sign in to disble this ad
because two lovely spanish girls just rang at my door asking if I spoke Spanish.

My last name looks rather spanish (Morez), but in fact it's french and pronounced without the Z.

But I should really start playing the Spanish card

Dude, you should have said your ancestors were spanish or something

Honestly, you don't look like a typical "belgian" ( if there's such a thing )

you're rather a tall Spaniard...

btw were they simply tourists ?

I have absolutely no clue! Maybe they were looking for spanish names in the phonebook?

I could have said my ancestors were spanish, but the cute one spoke only spanish so a conversation wouldn't have brought us far

Years ago I could understand Spanish decently- I could vaguely converse. Now... not at all.

I would like to actually learn this stuff for real.

When Junior had to take a foreign language, he was thinking about French- but we convinced him to take Spanish. I took German in HS, and aside from 2 short trips to Germany, I've had no call to use that German (which I have pretty much completely forgotten). 'Round here, you can converse in Spanish with LOTS of people on a daily basis. I really wish I had taken Spanish instead of German- especially with me living in El Paso for a year and Panama for 2.

Seeing as how it's estimated nearly 30% of Americans speak Spanish as a first language, it's a good idea to learn it. I'm teaching my 4-year-old.

On my mother's side, my ancestors came to America from Spain.

I hear ya man. At work I felt like I was the only person who didn't know some Spanish, and that was working in a clothes shop in Burbank, California.

Why'd I have to take Latin in High School? I fouled up, big time.

or to talk smack about them.
one of the reasons i want to go on a road trip with some buddies to somewhere where the spanish-speaking population is almost non-existent.

When I was in my early 30's I worked for a company that employed about 40 Latino girls. Consider that each one had their own circle of friends........... All I can say is learn some basic spanish
