How do they become high on the chart? Do users actually vote, or is it a per-click, total number of plays type of thing.
If it's a per-click thing I would think it may have something to do with the link in your sig.
If it's by votes, maybe they should add a genre like "other" for people such as yourself who use SoundClick as a place to share files rather than promote their music.
It looks like it is per play and new vs. old. Looks like they may be adding a user rating feature to the charts sometime tho. I looked up why they don't have an "other" section, and its basically because it would open the door to samples of copyright materials and such. Or something like that.
I shall never believe SoundClick's "Charts" again
