On a serious note, one of my friends here at college actually built one last year and still uses it. He uses a couple tarps as the cover but the thing is about 15ft diameter at the base maybe the same tall. It is lots of fun to hang out in there during parties, always draws an astonished crowd of new comers...

I also spent many winter nights in a real teepee. It had a fire pit in the center, great for cooking and keeping warm. It worked great but you smelled like a campfire for days.

I built one of these in the middle of the winter last year. Me and a few of my friends built it out of tarps, square tube metal poles (we didn't have long enough wood poles). We had to shovel a bunch of snow out of the way, we ended up with a pile about 7 or 8 feet high when we were done. After we were done building it, we decided that it would be a good idea to jump off my roof into the snow. The first few times we did it, it worked out great and was a lot of fun. Then about the 4th time that my friend was going to jump, he slipped on some ice on the roof and fell onto the top of the teepee, getting one of the poles stuck into his bum. Wasn't a pretty sight.

A teepee made of grilled steaks, propped up with potatoes and a bottle of Old Crow.

What time will you be there?

I spent a few below-freezing nights in a teepee at one time.

This young lady I knew lived in it and she invited me inside....to stay with her for awhile......

It takes constant fire tending to keep from freezing your ass off at 10 F, and getting naked with a cute girl is a lot less fun under those conditions than one might imagine. Mostly because of the smoke.

Gotsta pick up the wife and take her home first. T/A and snow don't mix, so we've been riding in together.
