I think I'm going deaf.

So lately I've been hearing this ringing noise, just like the one you hear after concerts (but not that loud). It pretty much goes unnoticed during most of the day, but I can hear it when I go to sleep. I've noticed it during the last 2 days. I don't wanna go deaf!!! I'll have to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Hit you ear where the ringing soud is coming from. Works for me.

There was another time when this "20 Questions" game was in my room that I had gotten from my cousins. It apparently was very found at making a really loud ringing noise. After a few weeks found out that was the problem and busted it with a bat.

Tinnitus. I've had that for several years; I don't know why. I usually don't go to loud concerts or expose myself to lots of noise.

If it's bugging you at night, try sleeping with a noise generator, or leave a fan on. And yes, seeing a doctor would be a great idea.

No, it's stayed the same over the years ::knock on wood::. And it seems to be in my right ear only.

Also, my hearing test came back normal, if that makes you feel better. Just the annoying ringing.

Well I can hear everything just fine. I went to a concert last Tuesday but the ringing went away like it always does.

Get to a clinic. Get a hearing test done.

If you need earplugs, find out now. You won't regret it.

Tinitus isn't always from loud noise. I got it after an impact to the back of my head doing jujitsu. Just had my hearing tested and it was flat to abour 16k, but 5% down on baseline. Mine comes and goes but that might be just whether I'm noticing it or not.

Had tinnitus since I was a kid. Riding bike + colliding into tree= my left ear having a hissing/ringing noise all the time. But I'm so used to it now I only notice it when I think about it.

Get hearing plugs. I've had Tinnitus for a long time and I am only 18. It's a constant ringing in both of my ears and it doesn't bother me although it does flare every now and then. It's kinda weird though I can hear a different ringing whenever the TV is on or a microwave gets turned on.

But seriously protect your ears, life's too short to go through it half deaf.

I sleep with a noice generator, but then I worry about how much THAT noise is hurting my ears, EVEN though its 60 dbc... my ears ring more in the morning then if I don't use the pink noise generator....

wear the earplugs so it doesn't get worse.

I've worn 2 hearing aids in both left and right ears since I was 13. Mine was hereditary. I have tinnitus in both ears, the ringing you are talking about ... i constatly hear it but i've grown used to it.

it flares up when I get a cold or sinus infection or blockage up there .... hard part is those times i also can hear my pulse through my eardrum .. that makes it itch so bad!

This is why I had my ears checked by an audiologist and spent $120 on custom molded earplugs. Best money I ever spent. I wear them to gigs, concerts, or other bands I might go see.
