Bagged me a bison this past Saturday. One arrow, passed straight through and then he walked about 40 yards and fell over.
Weighed in over 2000 lbs
^^That's my dad.

That is a big beast. Must be a big job dressing it and dragging it out. They are good eats.

The average person kills over 100 animals per year through their demand for animal products like meat, eggs, cheese, etc. I don't buy animal products from the store. I kill one animal and my entire family gets meat for a year. Plus, this animal grew up happily in the wild instead of in the hellish environment that animals for slaughter grow up in.
And btw the fence is there because we took it up by the ranch house to take pictures. This was a wild bison.

And, Id no way stop eating meat! Kill all the bison you need to if it keeps some decent nosh in the supermarket! |

good point!
besides: if Alex hadn't have shot it, it would have eventually:
1: frozen to death
2: drowned
3: broken a limb and starved
4: been eaten by predators
5: died from exaustion
6: croaked it in some other unhappy way.
I'd say that all with all things considered, gettin shot with an arrow was one of the best ways it could go. And besides, it's not like it was an infant or anything, it lived a full life.

Nice kill, I for one couldn't hunt as it would be hard for me to kill anything like that but still you make a good point, it leads a happier life then most animals that turned into supermarket meat.
only thing is with an arrow don't you risk having the animal suffer for longer then a gun? |

Animals often don't realize they're shot with an arrow because it cuts so cleanly. My brother actually shot a 6 point buck that was sparring with another buck... the arrow passed cleanly between the ribs, and it continued to spar until it started to stagger and eventually fell over.
Confused the heck out of the other deer.

I'm not a vegan and I don't really want to complain at the moment, but I'm always on the lookout for more complaining opportunities. . . |

^^And I had the same experience as Diggler. He didn't even know what hit him. He just kept walking with the herd and then fell over dead about 40 yards later.

You should definitely keep that around, bison's great for you -- especially on a bulk .
