Today I was in the Italian bakery and my friend bought a grain pie, I have never heard of it ever before but I greatly enjoyed it once I hade a few slices.

Is that ground beef, mashed potatoes, AND apples?

Interesting.

Hey iamlowsound, too bad you ate all that apple butter, I'm sure it would go great on that shepherd-apple hybrid pie.

Well shepherds pie is ground lamb with mashed potatoes on top and then it's baked until the layer of mashed potatoes crisps on top.

Cottage pie is the same thing but ground beef.

Both are served with brown gravy, but I could see that perhaps adding a little apple in a cottage pie might be good. Never tried it though.
