So I just activated this thing last night...I gotta say I'm really impressed...
You click any song in your library and it goes through and creates a play list of similar songs
For instance I clicked a Cake song and fired it up and it made me a mix including:
Primus, Sublime, Queens of the Stone Age, RHCP, The Talking Heads, Beck, 311....
I click Frog Bridage's Buzzards of Green Hill and get a play list of
Primus, The Flaming Lips, Phish, Mr. Bungle, The Grateful Dead, Flyod, Hendrix, Ween.... |

Ween is awesome and I guess its not really a surprise that Ween found its way in there...heck, they span every genre known to man. |

Did so now just to see what's what.
I figger it's just another marketing tool to get me to buy more stuff from the iTunes store.
It seems that a lot of computing stuff is just marketing - just like TV in it's day (and now).
But I really don't need iTunes or my computer suggesting stuff.
I pretty much keep iTunes ang my iPod on shuffle. Hell, if I didn't like the stuff I wouldn't have put it in my library in the first place*
*not counting the stuff my mom** lends me! (John Scofield plays Ray Charles, The Subdudes -- sheesh!)
**yes, even 50 yr olds have moms.

Mp3tag is a good free application for tagging your mp3 files.
Personally, I hate the tagging convention settled on by whatever mysterious consortium established it. It forces you to use their system of organization and classification. It's a pain in the *** that my mp3 player doesn't just sort my mp3's by the filenames I gave them and the folders I created for them. I hate having to re-tag everything I have with Artists, Titles, Years, Album Names, Genres, etc.

| | | | I can't freakin' sign in to itunes because I signed off one time- and now I can't make a new account until I purchase another itunes card. Screw those corporate bastards!
Oh, and it doesn't help to have my friends rave about how awesome it is. I'll just have to cave and get liek a 5$ itunes card. |
