So, how bout it? There are A LOT of things I've one-eighty'd on in my short 20 years (almost, anyway) but I'll keep the OP short. I think that one of the biggest was actually music related. I actually got into "music" pretty late. Previous to 7th grade the only artists I consciously enjoyed were Michael Jackson and Weird Al Yankovich and besides that I only listened to whatever music my band leader assigned. Around 7th grade I started listening to A LOT of stuff from all over the place but I couldn't stand 90s pop (though Barbie Girl was a guilty pleasure ). I refused to listen to Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera, ALL boy bands, and most anything that came out of Disney or Nickelodeon with the exception of Raven Simone... and not because of her voice .

Aaannnnyway, fast forward to now and I love Pop! Still not a big fan of boy bands or genetically manipulated network television superstars (Raven Simone is still an exception ) but Kesha, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, even a little Fergie I listen to constantly and unashamedly, lol. I have their albums on my ipod and play them in the car all the time... at least when I by myself or with other fans, haha.

So anyone else flip from the side of extreme dislike to "gotta have it?"

Red wine. Used to hate the stuff, but at the time, a cheap bottle of red was the least expensive way to get drunk. I was new to university, getting drunk was very important!

After a while, I found myself not hating it so much, started trying more expensive reds, my taste for it developed even more. Now I'm sitting with a glass before bed, not to get drunk, but because I'm enjoying the taste. Good times.

In high school up till sophomore year, I was strictly a hard alcohol man, hating the taste of beer. Then around sophomore year I went to a big kegger for my friends birthday, and he had a keg of sierra nevada, which I ended drinking the hell out of.(keg stands, beer pong, beer bongs) and from that day on I was thoroughly in love with brews of all kinds.

Country music. Moving to Nashville changed my perspective on it, and I realized how much fun it can be to play/sing. You can actually take a jazzy approach to basslines, using walking and passing tones, etc. There's a lot of room for creativity if you look a little deeper.

I used to hate Bob Dylan and his music.

I was immature.

I've been around the block a few times now. His music, especially the first half of his career, really resonates with me now.

For me it would be Music Man basses. I used to hate them and could not figure to why anyone would pay so much money for them. Hindsight being what it is, I think I was simply playing ones with very dead strings on them from my local Guitar Center. I now love these basses and that company will always be very special to me after what Sterling Ball did for my family.

Used to hate punk, hardcore, ska, and anything related to these genres. I also used to never like any metal with anything other than clean vocals as well. I now listen to pretty much any of these, and have expanded my metal listening range as well.

Well, as an eight-year-old, I swore I'd never drink heavily, smoke, take drugs of any kind or support the Tory party.

When I was a kid in the mid-late 70s, there were three things I hated: watermelon, broccoli, and KISS. 30+ years later, I eat broccoli a few times a week, and I enjoy listening to KISS every once in a while. Watermelon still sucks, though.

Maybe, but that wouldn't have anything to do with my dislike of watermelon.
