:::Vent warning::::
2 strikes in 1 day.
Expecting delivery of some dimarzios today. Have the night free and am completely psyched and ready to do my first time installation. Stayed home all day waiting for delivery and checking tracking ever hour or so.
Have to go somewhere at 7:30 so I ask my girlfriend if she could apartment sit till 9 because I really want to get this done tonight. On my way out I check my snail mail and I have a letter from UPS. A 90lb amp I paid $98 to sent to texas a few weeks ago, they charged my card an ADDITIONAL $126!!!!! I immediately call them and I'm told that regardless of the fact that I gave all the information over the phone when I scheduled the pickup and got a price, I needed to put the weight on the bill the guy gave me who came to pick up the amp. so they charged me a flat rate and came up with the additional $126. The delivery guy told me to just fill out the "to" and "from" and put the price they told me it would be. Customer service tells me it was my responsibility to put the weight on the invoice and I should have read everything on their "terms". If there was a smiley at my right with a furious face, I'd post it here. To make this long rant shorter I'll finish by saying that after 20 minutes of explaining and arguing I was told that there was nothing they would do about it, and noone else I could talk to. Add furious smily again. I hung up and called back. Got the same guy and asked to speak to a supervisor. Another guy came on, I explained the situation and he said, "No, problem. We'll refund your money. You'll see it on your car in 2 to 3 business days." I was stunned, thanked him and hung up - but quickly realized I didn't even give him any of my info???? Didn't get his name either (got the other guys though). I have to wait to see what happens now in 3 days.
Anyhow. Back to the other package that's being delivered. I get home a little before 10. No package. Check the tracking and they just updated it. Delivered around noon, to my super who it's too late for me to get it from now. They didn't ring my bell, they didn't post that it was delivered in my lobby. Yeah... that smiley again here. This one doesn't suffice . Nor does this .
Vent over. I need a nipple to suck on.

RANG MY BELL, b. POSTED THAT IT HAD BEEN DELIVERED ALREADY ON THE TRACKING INFO, or c. POSTED ON A DELIVERY BOARD WE HAVE IN OUR LOBBY THAT IT WAS THERE. and now I'm up at 7am on my day off so I can find my super in the morning and get the pickups to have them installed for a rehearsal this evening.
I also had to be aggravated by some moron for 20 minutes before having someone else tell me, "no problem" - which I'm not believing just yet. I admit this one is my own problem as it would be a lot easier to just forget it and wait to see what happens |

The only carrier that seems to be able to do things right (here at least) is the USPS. I'm sure sooner or later, I'll have an issue with them but thus far they've been darn near perfect.

| | (aka Greg Harman) | | Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Dunbar, West Virginia | | | I live 'slightly' in the country. My new UPS driver could not find his own behind if he started out with both hands in his back pockets. I have gone to the terminal and left maps, had long conversations with the manager. I once ordered two monitor speakers. I get a phone call on my cell from my old driver saying I had a package at the gate. I go down and find one of the speakers nicely wrapped in plastic to protect it. Two days later the second speaker has not arrived. I call the shipper. They say UPS wants to talk to me. I call an 800 number. UPS says we need directions to your house and a phone number. Go figure. They just delivered one two days earlier and called me. Freaking incompetance and a 'don't give a s**t attitude' is going to be the ruination of this country.
Thirty years ago I lived way back in the woods. You literally had to drive up two creek beds to get to where I lived. My UPS driver never failed to make it. If this sounds like an 'old man rant' it's because it probably is....

I hate dealing with shipping companies and having these kinds of problems. I'm actually running into some problems trying to ship out a bass right now. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
